I want venture out into the world of affordable/drugstore eyeshadows, and what better way to start than with Makeup Revolution’s new Slogan palettes? I ordered two of them, #Slay and No Photos Please, to test out for two weeks. I’ve never been drawn to Makeup Revolution’s eyeshadow palettes, because the color selection is either bizarre or a Naked dupe. But while browsing on ULTA, the colors of these eyeshadows suckered me into doing a haul. Let’s see if the quality holds up to MUR great color choices!
I was at ULTA, and these new Physicians Formula Bronze Booster palettes caught my eye. Physicians Formula is just one of those brands whose presentation I think is amazing, but I’m never tempted to buy their products. They are famous for their powders and bronzers, two makeup items I’m not too excited about. But because I’ve been into contouring lately and I always want new highlighters, I figure these palettes could be a good investment.
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso is the most hyped about blush at the drugstore, if not of all time. It gives a subtle, beautiful glow to the cheeks, and without me knowing it, it became my go-to blush last year. Unfortunately, sometimes, I think it runs too orange on my fair skintone. I prefer warm pink blushes, so when I saw that Milani came out with a new shade in their Baked Blush line, I was excited thinking that Bella Bellini might be the pink version of Luminoso. I could not be more wrong.
I was browsing through the New Arrivals on the ULTA website when I stumbled across this new collection. Warm nudes are just a staple in my collection, and I can never have enough, especially if they are from the drugstore. These Inti-Matte nudes come in the same formula as the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick formula. The shade range is to die for; you have everything from ultra-nude peaches to warm chocolate brown nudes. Let’s see some swatches.
For a while, I wavered between being content with my coral MUG eyeshadows and purchasing this palette. In the end, the pretty packaging and promotional images sucked me into buying. Peach has become one of my favorite makeup colors to wear, and since Kylie Jenner is releasing a peach palette, it’s officially trending. (Pantone should’ve really reconsidered on Greenery as the color of the year for 2017.) Let’s see if Too Faced blew it out of the water with the Sweet Peach, or if there’s room for other brands to capitalize on the trend.
