Beauty Favorites and NY Resolutions | Scrapbook 2016

It’s been a crazy 2016 for everyone. There have been many ups and downs, but we can all agree that 2017 is one for change and growth. Last year, I reached some important life milestones, professional and academic-wise, but now I want to focus on more personal things. This blog, of course, is one of them.

However, before looking to the future, I want to take a step back and review some of my beauty favorites. In 2016 I had just “joined” the makeup community on YT and Instagram, and consequently, I had accumulated a lot of new items in my collection. Here were the products I loved the most.

Resolutions for 2017

For 2017, I definitely want to focus on this blog and expand my contributions to the makeup community. I want this blog to be a fun, reliable source for product reviews and swatches, so I need to improve on my (non-existent) photography and web design skills. In addition, I want to curb my makeup spending by going back to drugstore products. With all the hype on Youtube and Instagram surrounding mid-to-luxury products, I felt like I abandoned the great drugstore finds last year. Plus, it would be more helpful to focus on drugstore items, because they are more affordable and accessible to everyone.

So, in summary, my goals for 2017 are:

  • Update this blog 3x a week
  • Stick to a makeup budget (~$1500 USD)
  • Explore drugstore brands
